Mifflin Guard School of the Soldier
March 5th and 6th the Mifflin Guard will gather at the Armory in Kingston, PA. This is the same location as last year. We encourage all members to join us! All troops should be in uniform. You may arrive Friday evening. Bring sleeping gear, ie. cots, sleeping bags, blankets, etc. Continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning at a minimal cost. There are also many other eateries in the area.
There will be a general membership meeting late Saturday afternoon and maneuver and tactic sessions Saturday evening. We are asking a $2.00 donation from each individual attending for use of the armory.
Directions: Take Interstate Route 81 to exit 170B (old exit 47B). Merge onto PA Route 309 north. Follow to exit 4 (Kingston/forty fort). Turn left on to Rutter Street. Proceed to Church Street and turn left. Stay on Church Street, it will change to 3rd Street (at the intersection with Pierce St.). Continue n 3rd Street to Market Street and the armory parking lot.
12th NJ Winter Gala

Mifflin Guard members are invited to join the membership of the 12th NJ for a wonderful evening of food, music, dancing, and good times. A buffet and cash bar are provided. Every guest will receive a complimentary gift. Howard and Carol Ruhl will conduct the dancing. The cost is $23.00 per attendee payable in advance.

Harry L. Sproehnle
Harry L. Sproehnle, age 58, of Newark, Delaware died on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Born in Long Beach, California, Mr. Sproehnle was a long time resident of Levittown before moving to Newark five years ago. He was an American history buff who would portray General John Hartranft and Mark Twain at various public events and was a member of the 28th Pennsylvania, Sons of the Union Veterans and the Grand Army of the Republic. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Sproehnle and Jaclyn Downs and also by their mother, Patricia Sproehnle of Yardley, Pa. Mr. Sproehnle was the beloved son of the late Harry L. and Eleanor T. (nee McCloskey) Sproehnle and is the brother of Eileen Sproehnle of Morrisville, Peggy Sproehnle of Morrisville, Linda Sproehnle of Princeton, N.J., Jeffry Sproehnle of Levittown and Greg Sproehnle of Morrisville. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, 4:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, where friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment is private. Memorial contributions to establish a college fund for Mr. Sproehnle's daughter, Carolyn, would be appreciated payable to the Carolyn Sproehnle Educational Trust Fund, c/o 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, Pa. 19056.
